Live EV light meter — incident, reflected, and spot

Read live EV, shutter, aperture, and ISO, then use the free Sunny 16 calculator when you already know the light. The live meter stays free — hold a reading, switch modes, and keep everything on your iPhone.

What you can do

Live camera meter

Point your iPhone at the scene and get a live EV reading with shutter, aperture, and ISO — built for film and studio work.

Three ways to read light

Use reflected to average the scene, incident for light on the subject, or spot to compare one tone. Switch modes any time.

Spot reticle

Tap and pinch to place the spot. Spot locks camera exposure so you can compare tones; reflected and incident keep the preview adapting.

Hold a reading

Lock the current EV when the light is right, then unlock to keep metering. Display EV, lux, or foot-candles.

Sunny 16 calculator

A free exposure calculator for daylight work. Set ISO and get shutter and aperture in 1/3-stop steps — no purchase required.

Meter stays free forever

Live metering and Sunny 16 have no shot quota. Use the pocket meter as much as you want without unlocking Pro.

Zone system scale

Pro adds a zone scale on the live meter so you can place a tone and see where it sits from Zone 0 to Zone X.

Calibration

Match a handheld meter with a 0.1-stop offset, or align to Sunny 16 in bright sun when you want a guided starting point.

Shoot log and film helper

Save readings with notes, export a CSV or text log, apply film ISO presets, and get a reciprocity warning for long exposures.

One-time Pro unlock

Luxwell Pro is a one-time purchase. No subscription. Zone, calibration, logs, film helper, and extra camera presets unlock on this device.

Everything stays on your iPhone

Settings, calibration, and shoot logs live on your device. PaprikaTech does not operate a cloud backend for your meter readings.

Local-first by design

Luxwell keeps your settings, calibration offset, camera presets, and shoot log on your iPhone. The camera is used only to measure light — PaprikaTech does not operate a cloud backend that stores your EV readings, photos, or log notes.

We use TelemetryDeck for privacy-oriented usage analytics (for example, that the meter opened or a mode changed) — never your EV values, camera frames, or log text. Purchases are handled through Apple and RevenueCat as described in our Privacy Policy.

Support

Luxwell is made by PaprikaTech LLC for photographers who want a pocket meter on the phone they already carry.
